NHHF Internship Program

At the National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF), we are committed to fostering the next generation of public health leaders. Our Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development opportunities for students and young professionals passionate about advancing health equity within Hispanic communities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university or be a recent graduate (within one year).
  • Demonstrated interest in public health, healthcare, policy, research, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Based in Washington, DC.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer phone inquiries and direct calls and provide basic company information.
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
  • Take notes and memos during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files.
  • Manage databases and input information, data, and records.
  • Research and gather documentation on the company's position in the industry.
  • Assist with the planning and coordinating two scholarship galas on the East and West coasts.
  • Update and post supervised social media and website content; respond to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails.

The intern plays a vital role within the NHHF team and will learn program management, fundraising, and event planning. The Intern should be entrepreneurial, highly motivated, and energetic. She or he should be attentive to details and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines. The applicant should be familiar with or interested in working with the Hispanic community and medical professionals on healthcare topics.

NHHF accepts applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled for a period of time, usually ranging in the length of a typical collegiate semester.
